Car wash

 So in last weekend we had a fundraiser for theater, and it was so much fun. Everyone had told me that it was going to be really boring and that they hated car washes, but i thought it was so much fun. Okay so what we did of course was wash cars. But we also had to sign for it, so me and my friend who is a cheerleader went out to sign. After our fund raiser was over we were supposed to have rehersals but our director canceled. Because of that my host sister Claire, my friend Kyrah and me went shopping in Katy. That was really nice. After that we went to a cafe to get something to eat and then we left to go to Kyrahs house to watch the Conjuring. Just a really fun day. Ohh yeah and i met girl scouts, i was very fascinated.

Legally Blonde

Ohh wow i cant believe its over! All back in november we started rehersals for this, and now 3 months and 6 shows later, here we are were done. So as i said back in november there was auditions for this, its a musical btw and a lot of people showed up, cause its such a big production and because so many knows legally blonde or have atleast seen the movie. (In danish its called "blondinens hævn"). I tryied out for tech, which is helping backstage, building set, props and costumes, ect. So after people was casted for this of course we started working on it. Some of the roles were yet to be determined though, so one day my director came up to me and he told me that i was gonna play Elles(main carecter) mom. In the beginning i was really nervous but eventually it soaked in and me and everyone was really excited about the hole play.
       After like 2 weeks our main director got a councousion from a falling set piece. We were all really worried but thought that it wouldnt take long before he would come back. But we were wrong. Our show dates was 23-24-25 january and 6-7-8 febuary, but as we got closer and the show was not near done and orur main director was not back yet, he had to call in another director. Once he got there the show was supposed to be the next day. Since we were not done, we had to put our first 3 shows on strike and move them to the 13-14-15 febuary. So we bacically learned new blocking and put together a hole new show on only 9 days. Those days were long and intense. The thursday we performed we hadent done a full run through of the play yet so the first night performing was also out first time doing a full run through. But we performed those six nights and i must admit that it was so much fun. I got close with so many amazing people and i am so gratefull for all the things thay have tought me.
      That musical was just so much fun, it was a lot of work, but it all paid off in the end. I got to play a drunk plastic mom with facelift, HUGE boobs and a lib job. Im not sure if i am ever gonna forget all those songs.

Changing host families

So today we are off school because there is ice on the road, and nobody have to learn how to drive on ice so, the school was closed today.

So between christmas and new years my host family came and told me that they wanted me to move out, i was very chocked and i didn't really know how to act. It was extremely hard on me. Well i called my coordinator who calmed me down a little bit, she told me that it would be a good idea, to try and see if any of my friends or teachers would like to host me. So i texted my friend Claire, who was in Thailand at that time, and i asked her if she and her family would like to host me. After a half day she texted me bake saying that she would love to host me, but that they of course had to get home from Thailand first. they came home on the 5th and then i could move in on the 6th. I was supposed to stay with my family until i could get to my new family, but i ended up living 2 days at two of my other friends house, which was really great. In the morning on the 6th, my coordinator came to pick me up, and drove me to my new host family. So here i am, and i am so happy here. My new host family is so sweet, and some super positive people. I live with the Brady family, who consist of a mom, dad and 2 kids. I cant wait to make a lot more memories from Texas with my new family! <3

Christmas at sea

Disney Wonder- dreams really do come true if you just believe.

I just came home from the weirdest, hardest, most untraditional, strangely warm, totally amazing, magical disney cruise. It was so much fun. :)
We left our house the 21st, the day after we got off at christmas break. We drove to Galveston, where we boarded onto the biggest ship i have ever seen, it was so big and luxurious. When we came onboard on the ship, staff was lined up in the entrance and presented our family and clapped at us, that was a little weird. Me and Emily shared a room, and the the boys and my host parents shared another one. The ship had different clubs for different age groups, the one for us was called VIBE. Our dinners were arranged in such a way that there were 3 different restaurants on the boat. You were signed to one of them each night, and as you moved around the resturants your waiters would follow you. I thought that that was a really fun way to do it, cause then you got to know them. Every night there was a show onboard, that was some amazing shows. The ship also had 3 pools with hot tubs, 2 basketball courts and 10 pingpong tables and fuss ball tables and much, much more.

The two first days we spend at sea, we spend quite a lot of time just exploring the whole ship and navigate us selfs around. We also went up to VIBE, where they had a little icebreaker thing going on, so we met some people up there. The wether also started to get really nice, so we spend quite a lot of time tanning. We also spend some time hanging out with with our new friends. Since it was a disney cruise, they of curse also had a movie theater showing the latest movies. The new movie Frozen(Frost) was playing, so we went to see that. That is such a good movie, i will encourage everyone to go see it, its my new favorite disney movie. And then it is actually inspired by H.C. Andersens fariytale "The snow queen".

The third day we docked in Cozumel, a little island in the mexican gulf. Before hand Dorte, Lucas, Nicholas, Emily and I  had booked an excursion to go swim with dolphins while Bob was scuba diving. When we got off the boat, a taxi came to pick us up and they took us to this dolphin place. We were divided into groups and we got the dolphin named ATOS, a little 4 year old dolphin. We learned how to make the dolphin kiss us, we could kiss it, it would greet us, we got on a boogie board and were pushed by the dolphin and we swam with it where it dragged us. It was so cool! In the evening it was pirate night, so there was no show but there was a huge pirate party on the deck.

The day after, on the 24th, we arrived at Grand Cayman Island, there we had booked a trip to go snorkeling. They took us on a little boat ride and then they stopped at a coral reef. It wasn't a very
colorful reef, but there were some pretty fish. After spending some time there, we sailed to a shipwreck and snorkled over that, that was really cool too. When thayt was over, we went to get some food at a resturent and Doret and I shoped a little bit in the small souviner shops. On christmas eve we ate at Animators Palate, that was a really cool resturant, when we got there everything was black and white, but as time went by, things started to get color. The show that night was called the golden Mickys, it was an award show, and i thougth that that was the best show.

The last two days we spent at see. There we just hung out and ate a lot of food. Of course we also took a lot of pictures with the disney figures. The 2 shows were toy story the musical and a show called Dream, they were really cool too.

So all in all it was a really nice and magical cruise. Even though it was really weird not being with my family at home, and having  traditional danish christmas, so even though i was really busy i still had time to think about all the missed family and finds at home, that usually were there around christmas time.

My first American thanksgiving!

Haven't been too good at blogging lately, but i will try and do my best to catch up now.
Okay so last month it was Thanksgiving, we got of of school on the 22 of november and got back again the 2nd. My family and i went to a bay house in Galveston with another family. We lived in a little cute bay house 500 m. from the beach, it was really nice.  We had to take a little ferry to get to the island and it was just a nice and peaceful place. The weather was really cold that week, but the sky was clear and the sun was still out. We didn't really do much, we pretty much just hung out and chilled.
On the day of thanksgiving we began the morning with watching the Macy parade on the TV from New York, that was a really big deal, it was a huge parade. After that we watched football, and just went for a walk on the beach. In the evening we started cooking all of the lovely food. Of course we had turkey, ours were deep fried. We had ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green been casserole, cranberry sauce and rolls. For dessert we had Pumpkin pie and cheesecake, yum that is sooo good! The food was really good, actually so good that i ended up changing into sweatpants cause i was so full. After that we all had to make a little "speech" that was really cute. I said that i was really thankful for my host family for opening their home for me and just being able to be there with, i also said that i was was thankful for my parent, that they let me do this and support me in it 100%. In the evening we played scatagories. The day after it was black friday, but my host parents didn't really do all the shopping and stuff, so instead we went to go see the new Hunger Games movie, "Catching Fire". It was a really good movie, i was so impressed and surprised during the whole movie. So al in all it was just a relaxing week, with a lot of great food, nice games and beautiful view.

Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun, I had a great time!

It all started a week before halloween, where my area rep. had a halloween party at our house. We were 7 exchange students, and they were really cool. We were 2 from Denmark, 2 from Norway, 1 from South Korea, 1 from Italy and 1 from Spain. I was really cool meeting up with all of them and it was so nice. Everyone brought their host family and we just and we just had a great time. Everyone had to bring a dish, so i made frikadeller. We just hung out, some carved pumpkins, ate some nice food and made toilette paper mummies.

After the party, Alba stayed and me her and Emily had a sleepover, it was really nice, i missed my crazy little dane! The day after Alba and I went shopping and it was really fun!

The night of halloween was a thursday. Theater was helping out at a haunted house, so i decided to go with them and i had a blast! It was so scary, everyone was dressed out and wore really creepy makeup. I was just put in there as an extra, and so was Rachel so we decited that we wanted to be evil twins. and we were!!!!

So i didnt go trick or treating, but i had so much fun that it didn't  even matter. Plus my voice was non existing for a couple of days because of all the screaming, but who cares. This was my first Halloween!
